Albany Landfill Dog Owners Group & Friends upholds responsible dog ownership, educates the public about dogs, and promotes off-leash exercise as a healthy, community-building activity. We support inclusive, multi-use parks that balance recreation and preservation throughout the East Bay. We cherish the unique history, traditions, habitat, and art of the Albany Landfill area.

On 20 December 2011 a coalition of four East Bay dog owner groups presented some 10,000 signatures to the East Bay Regional Park District Board of Directors in support of Ordinance 38 (allowing dogs off-leash in undeveloped areas of the parks) and acknowledging people with dogs as an official user group on Albany Beach.

ALDOG (pronounced “ALL dog”) is a grassroots community group of more than 1,700 people. We work with dog owner groups, government entities, parks managers, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure policies that encourage diverse uses and users in our public parks.
